Remember the days when we went to the movies.
With popcorn and candy and coke?
Now it’s Twitter and Facebook and Netflix and Covid.
Entertainment at home, it’s no joke.
But our tempers flare often and in public places
As a minor annoyance provokes.
And the big things, the taking of woman’s own choices
Has us blinded with rage, spewing smoke.
I can’t focus on good things, on pleasure and joy.
While my sisters live dangerous lives.
As a fascist state dictates forced childbirth, regardless
Of whether her soul will survive.
